About this service

Shoes are the storage problem most homes never solve properly, because standard racks are the wrong depth for boots and the wrong height for heels. We build shoe storage around the collection you actually own — counting pairs, measuring the tallest boots, and setting shelf spacing and pitch so everything is visible and reachable rather than stacked in boxes.

Solutions range from a slim hallway bench with concealed pull-outs to a full lit display wall in a dressing room. Options include angled shelving to show the fronts of the shoes, adjustable spacing for boots and trainers, ventilated shelves for sports footwear, glass doors to keep dust off a collection, and LED lighting to each bay.

What's Included

Everything in your quotation

One all-inclusive price covering the design, the furniture and the installation — itemised in writing before any work begins.

Collection count & sizing

Pairs counted and the tallest boots measured so shelf pitch and depth are set to what you own.

Adjustable shelving

Shelves that reposition as the collection changes, with spacing for trainers, heels and boots.

Angled display shelves

Raked shelving that presents the front of each shoe, so you can see the pair without pulling it out.

Pull-out & concealed racks

Soft close pull-outs behind doors, or a bench with lift-up storage for everyday shoes by the front door.

Ventilation options

Slatted or perforated shelves for sports and walking footwear that needs airflow.

Lighting & doors

Optional LED strips to each bay, plus glass or solid fronts to keep dust off a display.

Design Options

Styles we build most

A starting point rather than a menu — most projects borrow from more than one of these, and every option comes in over 200 colours and finishes.

01

Hallway Bench

A seat at the front door with shoe storage beneath and hooks or panelling above it.

02

Lit Display Wall

Open angled bays with LED lighting, treating the collection as part of the room's décor.

03

Concealed Pull-Out

Everything behind closed doors on soft close pull-outs, so the hallway stays completely clear.

04

Boot Room

Taller ventilated bays for boots and outdoor footwear, usually combined with coat hanging and a drip tray.

Our Process

From first visit to finished room

The same six stages apply to every project we take on, whatever its size.

01

Free Consultation

We talk through what is not working in the room, what you want it to do, and the finishes you are drawn to. No charge and no obligation.

02

Survey & Measure

A designer measures the space properly — walls, angles, services and floor levels — because made to measure only works from real dimensions.

03

Design & Quotation

You receive a layout, your choice of finishes and an all-inclusive written quote. We revise the design with you until it is right.

04

UK Manufacturing

Once the design is signed off, your furniture is manufactured in the UK to your exact measurements and finish specification.

05

Installation

Our own in-house fitters install everything, scribe it to your walls, protect your home as they work and clear away afterwards.

06

Sign-Off & Guarantee

We walk the finished project with you, adjust anything that needs it, and hand over your 7-year guarantee certificate.

Shoe Rack FAQs

Common questions, answered

Yes — we measure your tallest pair at survey and set at least one bay of shelf spacing around it, so boots stand upright rather than being folded over or left out.

It depends on the routine. Everyday pairs are best in a hallway bench or understairs pull-out near the door, while a collection you want on display usually belongs in the wardrobe or dressing room.

That is how most hallway projects end up: shoe storage below, hanging for coats above, and a shelf or cupboard for bags, hats and gloves in the same run.

Your choice. Open angled bays with lighting show the collection, glass fronts display it while keeping dust off, and solid doors hide it entirely.
